Dr. Hubbard
Dr. Christa (Goodman) Hubbard founded Horizon Family Chiropractic in April of 2007. Over the past two years since the office opened, Dr. Christa is pleased to have offered many in Minot and surrounding communities relief from their ailments and better health. Serving the Minot Community has been an overwhelmingly positive experience for Dr. Christa and she is so pleased to be here.
Since founding the practice two years ago, much change has occurred: Horizon Family Chiropractic now offers services from a massage therapist, Amy Jacobson, and from a fellow colleague, Dr. Matthew Thomas DC. Dr. Christa also completed and passed her Diplomate Exam in April 2008 from the American Chiropractic Neurology Board. She is currently one of three chiropractors in the state of North Dakota that is board certified in Chiropractic Neurology. She is pleased to offer services that utilize her training in chiropractic neurology from the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies where she has completed over 300 hours of continuing education. Chiropractic neurology is a specialized field of chiropractic which allows her to offer a unique treatment approach to her clients. Another big change in her life arrived February 4, 2009 when Dr. Christa and her husband, Ryan, welcomed their healthy baby girl, Tessa Jo, to the world.
Dr. Christa is an avid sports and outdoor enthusiast. She was born and raised in Marquette, Michigan, a town similar in size to Minot in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Her husband is a B52 navigator at Minot Air Force Base and that is what brought her to Minot. Her adverse health history was the catalyst which prompted her to pursue study in chiropractic and is also a driving force to her dedication in providing the highest quality of care possible to her patients.
Throughout her schooling, Dr. Christa was always a dedicated student athlete. At age 15, she received an alpine skiing scholarship from Gould Academy and moved to Bethel, Maine for her last three years of high school. Dr. Christa completed her undergraduate training at the University of Vermont where she obtained a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and competed as an NCAA Division I Alpine Ski Racer. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in February 2007.
Dr. Christa takes much pride in her work and would be honored to help those who are suffering. She encourages those who have questions about the services provided to contact the office and schedule a consultation. Do not hesitate to call, your health is everything.
Dr. Thomas
Dr. Thomas is a native of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. He is an active individual that enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Activities he enjoys include hiking, hunting, fishing, scuba diving, and hockey.
Growing up, he was involved in many sports, namely football and hockey. While playing football he sustained a significant head and neck injury resulting in many headaches and back aches. After seeking unsuccessful medical attention, his parents took him to a chiropractor. They were all amazed to see how chiropractic care was able to restore his health function to a balanced state.
That event "planted the seed" as to what Dr. Thomas thought would be a very unique and rewarding career. He attended St. Cloud State University then Palmer College of Chiropractic, graduating in 2005. While studying at Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Thomas attended many seminars becoming proficient in several adjusting techniques and completed the brain and spine injury series through the Spinal Institute of San Diego. He was accepted into the Palmer College Clinic Abroad Program where he traveled to the Fijian Islands with a select group of students and doctors. Dr. Thomas finished all academic and clinical requirements early, affording him the privilege to participate in the field as a chiropractic extern for his final semester.
Dr. Thomas has been pursing advanced post graduate studies in the specialized field of chiropractic neurology. He is excited to begin working with his friend and colleague Dr. Christa Hubbard. He is also looking forward to moving to Minot to bring the surrounding communities what chiropractic has brought him - the gift of a healthier life.
